Myanmar is an elongated and prorupted state. The capital is Yangoon which is in the South, on the Gulf of Martaban. The capital is relatively close to the proruptions along the coast. Usual problems with elongated or prorupted states is not being able to transport resources to the isolated areas. In Myanmar, the elongated southern peninsula has plenty of resources from the surrounding water. The resources include Myanmar's oil companies. But transportation and communication is still a complication, especially with reaching northern states.
Myanmar is a country in Southeast Asia, formerly known as Burma. It has no colonies, but it was once a British colony from 1886- 1948. Previously an independent kingdom, Burma was annexed by the British Empire into the colony of India in 1886. The British rule brought social, economic, cultural and administrative changes to the society. The Japanese Empire invaded and occupied the country during World War II but it was returned to British control until independence on January 4, 1948. Myanmar has no territories far from it, but owns the collection of islands all along the Southwest border on the Andaman Sea and those surrounded by the mouths of the Irrawaddy.
